Sol Kadhi
Sol Kadhi is a drink which is served as an appetizer along with meals in the Konkan region. The health benefits of Sol Kadhi are many. It aids digestion and also acts as a cooling agent.

Ingredients
½: | Coconut (scraped) |
2-3 pods: | Garlic |
2-3: | Peppercorns |
½: | Green Chilli |
3-4 : | Dried Kokum |
Salt, to taste.

Directions
- Soak the dried Kokum in warm water for about 30 minutes. Mash the kokum and then sieve the mixture to separate the juice and the pulp.
- Grind all grated coconut, garlic, peppercorns and green chilli with enough water.
- Sieve the ground mixture through a muslin cloth and extract all the milk by squeezing. This process can be repeated a few times (by adding water) to ensure that all the milk has been extracted.
- Add the kokum juice to the extract.
- Add salt.
- Solkadhi is ready.
