Its field has three rows, which are further divided into thirty-two small squares, making ninety-six squares altogether. These small squares depict inscriptions in the Devanagri script. Namvali shawls are made using different techniques; weaving, embroidering, printing or painting, which became very popular around the 18th-19th century. These shawls were worn by the devotees especially during the rituals.
