Found at the beginning of the right aisle in Cave 17, the painting is noted for its depiction of Indra - in disguise as a blind beggar and in his divine regal form. There is also an inscription identifying Śibi rājā and Indraḥ.
King Śibi is known for his compassion and benevolence. He is tested by Indra who appears as a blind Brahmin and begs Śibi for his eyes. Śibi obliges and donates his eyes to the man. After some time, Indra returns and tests Śibi's resolve. Seeing how the king remains steadfast in his convictions, Indra restores his eyesight.
