This embroidered dress, made of silk, was worn by Lady Curzon of Kedleston at the Centenary fancy dress ball held in the Government House, Calcutta on 26th January 1903. Lady Curzon was the wife of Lord Curzon, the Viceroy of India and enjoyed the highest official position that a woman could hold in India at that time
