Jhanja is a solid instrument made of cotton and bel metal. This temple instrument is found in Orissa. Majorly used as secondary rhythmic accompaniment in ‘Pala’ and ‘Kirtan’ forms of music in Orissa.

Two medium sized discs made out of bell metal. Held by the attached cotton cord and struck facing each other. Used as secondary rhythmic accompaniment in ‘Pala’ and ‘Kirtan’ forms of music in Orissa.
