Manjira is a solid instrument made of wood and iron. This religious instrument is found in Gujarat. Majorly used in devotional singing. Also called Kartal or Khartal in North India.

A pair of clappers made of wood. Jingle plates are loosely attached to the body by means of iron nails. The body is beautifully carved with bird motifs. Played by one hand, by holding the clappers between thumb and four fingers. Used in devotional singing. Also called Kartal or Khartal in North India.

Majira is a simple pair of cymbals, joined with a ring. It has always been used as an accompaniment to devotional songs, sung in religious congregations, but now it is also used an accompaniment to folk songs and dances. The Manjeera can also be made with wood with metal sides.
