Type: GHAN VADYA
Jalra is a solid instrument made of metal. These cup shaped cymbals are found in South India.
Material: Metal
The Jalra is in proportion thicker than the largest cymbals. They are played so as to produce a ringing sound, somewhat like that of an electric bell. They are usually connected by a cord passed through their centers. The cup-shaped cymbals to the left of the plate are called Tala and are so made that their edges only are struck.
