Ghatam is a solid instrument made of clay. Mostly used in South Indian Classical Music, this instrument is found in Tamil Nadu. Majorly used in South Indian classical concerts with Mridangam and Khanjira.

A pitcher shaped pot made of baked clay with a large belly. The mouth is left uncovered. Beaten with fingers, palms, fists, and nails of both the hands-on various parts of the pot, to get a wide variety of sounds and tones. Used in South Indian classical concerts with Mridangam and Khanjira.
