The video is a presentation on the modern movement in Bengali music which was ushered in by stalwarts like Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam in the 20th century. The film looks at the golden age of Bengali songs through the musical journey of singers like Juthika Roy, Ramkumar Chattopadhyay, Satyeshwar Mukherjee, Mrinal Chakraborty and Subir Sen. These singers were most active in the post-independence period and they embraced diverse genres from devotional to patriotic songs. During the interviews with these artists many interesting anecdotes about the prevalent music scene and their musical training emerge which throw light on the bygone era of Bengali music. The focus of the film is not to restrict the exploration of this musical age within the experiences of a few individual artists but to revisit a moment in Bengali music history which brought to life the words of poets like Tagore and Nazrul Islam.
