Description: This brass wristlet is decorated with bands/ rows with linear and lozenge-shaped motifs. Such bangles have hierarchical importance and ceremonial values. Brass bangles are common and three to eight of them with increasing size from wrist to elbow are worn by both men and women; however, these bangles are characteristic to the womenfolk. Such bangles display the intricate artistry and metallurgical knowledge of Mishmi people of Arunachal Pradesh. This kind of bangles has horizontal-patterned designs which symbolically represent the clan or any sub-clan of the Mishmis. These bangles have been deemed to have a specific resemblance to any particular event such as being married or any clan ritual/ festival.
