Sling Bag
Publisher: National Museum, New Delhi
Description: The thin loomed strap bag displays the diamond patterns of pink and crimson red colour on the dorsal side with borders of black and white zig-zag designs, significantly forming a black and white triangle. The lateral edge also follows a similar pattern. At the centre of the bag, a pinkish bordered strip is seen with cross-checked design. The ventral side is black and thin white lines are stitched horizontally from and to lateral ends respectively. These bags are handcrafted with the natural looming process and several hue threads are also used to provide different colours and textures. However, floral designs are also observed apart from diamond designs in such bags of Mishmi clans of Arunachal Pradesh.
