There are only a few paintings at Ajanta with Indra as the central character. This artwork is painted at the end of the left aisle in Cave 17.
Story:
Even during a heated battle against the Asuras, though Indra turns his chariot away to save the lives of a few garuda chicks on a tree on the battlefield, this compassionate act helps him clinch victory.
